Libraries play a vital role in the development of our society and country. S. R. Ranganathan, who is known as “Father of Library Science in India”, was the first person who identified the real
need of libraries. The Library at Anjuman-I-Islam’s College of Hotel & Tourism Management Studies & Research was established in 2005.The library is located on the first floor of the
institute building and is easily accessible from every corner. It has a carpet area of about 1,060 square feet and can accommodate 75 students and 10 faculty members. The library is partially
computerized using E-Granthalaya library software supported by Govt. from India. and is well equipped with reference books, DVDs, periodicals, journals and newspapers etc.

Library facilities /Services
1. Home lending-Every working day of the week, from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm, the home lending counter is open. From this counter, students may borrow books for one week.
2. Reprographic service – Photocopies on demand are available for students, excluding reference books and rare books.
3. Reading room- Air-conditioned reading room with 85 seating capacity. Reading room is open every day from 8.30 a,m. to 6.00 pm.
4. Reference Service-Library staff and librarian assist students with specific information needs by using various information sources.
5. New Arrivals-List of the newly added books are displayed on the student notice board.
6. Current Reading - Newspapers, Periodicals, and Magazines are made available for the students only to be referred in the library.
7. Current awareness service – The library collects important news from various newspapers and uploads them on the library blog.( http://aiiihmlibrary.blogspot.com/)
8. Past Research Project and Questions Papers.-The library has previous research work of faculty and research projects prepared by the students and the college’s/university’s past question papers
9. Library Notice Board –The library compile newspaper clippings on current affair and displays on student Notice board.
10. Inter -library loan facility - To meet their additional reading demands, the college library offers interlibrary loan services to its readers.
11. OPAC-An online catalog, Students can view library collections & availability of the books.
12. Free Internet Access – Free Internet Access for all students in reading room

Rules and Regulations-
1. Students are responsible for books borrowed against their library card
2. One book per student will be issued for a period of one week
3. If the book is not returned on the due date a fine of Rs. 5 per day will be levied on late
return
4. Borrower will required to compensate full cost with fine decided by library committee on
lost or damage any books by students
5. Books taken for reference should not be taken out of the library.
6. Writing of scribbling on or tearing of pages of library books, newspapers,
periodicals etc.is prohibited & will be liable for strict action
7. Difficulties if any should be discussed with the librarian.
8. Use of mobile phones is strictly prohibited inside the library.
9. Complete silence should be maintained in the library
10. Students are sincerely requested to abide the above mentioned rules.

The library is open from 8:30 am. to 6:00 p.m., except holidays.
